About Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator

Shanghai Electric Middle East is the Regional agent for Shanghai MITSUBISHI Elevators in the Middle East region. It was established in the year 2006 to develop and support the expansion of Shanghai MITSUBISHI Elevators in the region. Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevators Company (SMEC) was established in the year 1987 as a Joint Venture company between Mitsubishi Electric (Japan) and Shanghai Electric Group (China).

Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SMEC) is a Sino-Japan joint venture enterprise established in Jan 1987, which is controlled and managed by the Chinese shareholder. SMEC has maintained a leading market position in China’s elevator industry since 1993 and is the first elevator company to be listed in China’s top 500 enterprises.

Company Performance

Since its establishment, each year SMEC has maintained a high growth rate. In 2017, its annual income was close to ¥ 20 billion (the US $ 3.2 billion), and its annual output of elevators and escalators was over 70,000 units. By the end of 2017, SMEC has delivered more than 700,000 units accumulatively.
