Central Business District
The CBD, which is now under construction in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), is expected to become one of Egypt's most important contemporary historical landmarks. The CBD project consists of 20 high-rise buildings that will breathe new life into Egypt's economic and social development once completed.
The $3.4 billion project's foundation stone was placed in March 2018. The project, which will be performed by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), will cover a total area of 1.7 million square metres and will include a variety of multi-purpose services and units, including commercial, leisure, and residential units.
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has agreed to finish the project in three years with CSCEC.
The Commercial Bank of Dubai will also house the Egyptian Central Bank's headquarters, as well as the country's largest printing machine for banknotes, a bank-only section, and residential, administrative, service, and commercial units. As part of the project, CSCEC plans to construct a total of 20 buildings in the neighbourhood, including the landmark 385-meter-high, 80-story tower, which will be the tallest in Egypt and Africa once completed.
