Bahrain has issued a request for proposals for the BIA Cargo Express Village project.
The Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has published a request for proposal (RFP) for construction work at the Bahrain International Airport's Cargo Express Village (BIA).
The scope of contract covers the building, testing, and commissioning of Phase 1-A of Cargo Express Village, according to Bahrain Tenders Board.
Among the important facilities being planned are a 12,500-square-meter warehouse zone, two power substations, a landside access road from Al Rayya highway, a vehicle parking zone and security guard house at the Cargo Express Village's entrance, as well as water tanks, a pumping station, and an emergency gate.Zone A will have a 5,000-square-meter warehouse dedicated to shipping company FedEx, as well as other storage facilities spanning 7,500 square metres.
The scope of work on the airside of the Cargo Express Village, according to BAC, includes an airside security wall with accompanying works, an emergency gate, and airside roadways and yard.
Only Grade A and Grade AA-rated building contractors registered with the Kingdom's Ministry of Works would be eligible to bid, according to the Tender Board. The deadline for submitting bids has been set for September 12th, according to the announcement.
