Egypt invests $7.5 billion in a petrochemicals project that will be the largest in Africa
During the meeting, president Abdel-Fattah ELSI informed the public on the Suez Canal petrochemical complex, the biggest petrochemical complex in the region, of a national project to be developed in partnership between the petroleum industry und the international company Bechtel.
On Thursday, Chairman El-Sisi, in the attendance of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Chairman and Chief Intelligence Officer Abbas Kamel and Minister of Oil and mineral resource, Brendan Bechtel, received Bechtel's CEO.
The official President of the Republic spokesman, Bassam Rady, said that Sisi welcomes the Bechtel Company officials and emphasised the strong relations between Egypt and the United States in all areas of cooperation and strategic relations.
He emphasised Egypt's desire to strengthen the two countries in order to achieve common objectives. The meeting reviewed Egypt's global investment, which spans decades in various sectors.
In view of the comprehensive stability that Egypt currently has with a modern infrastructure and a network of roads, axes and ports that are internationally-standard SIIS was also working with Bechtel to develop its activities in Egypt especially in the energy and transportation sectors.
